I decided today would be the day for the first experiment of the KW Food adventure I have set on. I called them at 7 just to make sure they hadn't closed on me, since it was Friday and assuming they are a big lunch crowd rather then dinner.. The friendly old lady said they were open till 8.
Ambience:
Parking on a side street in Uptown, I made my way into Harmony Lunch, as I walked up I could smell the fried onions in the air, and I was in heaven. The restaurant itself is a simple old old diner and has not been updated at all but still maintains fairly good cleanliness. What was awesome is as you walk up to the counter, you can see them cooking the patties and the onions right in front of you.
Service:
Fast food and a friendly elder lady to boot. Can't beat it!
Food:
Now to the best part. As I sat waiting for the fried onion topped glory. I noticed a sign that the hamburgers are actually original pork hamburgers. Interesting concept that I have never seen before and very intrigued to try. The patties were made fresh in front of you and was grilled on a flat grill so it sautes in its own pork juices!
The burger itself was absolutely scrumptious. Great flavour and the fried onions were simply amazing. The fries were cut shoestring and seemed probably frozen and not fresh but complimented the meal amazingly.
Greasiness:
If you are looking for a greasy greasy lunch, perhaps after a long night of drinking to combat that painful hangover, or looking for a nice indulgence once in a while, or possibly a Friday in my case, Harmony Lunch is the place to be.
